Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.) and present at major conferences
- Secure $5M+ in annual research grants from NSF, DARPA, and industry partners
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates in quantum computing
- Translate theoretical breakthroughs into practical applications for finance, healthcare, and logistics
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum research
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, QAOA, VQE) and quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Strong publication record in quantum computing or adjacent fields
- Experience with high-performance computing and HPC cluster management
- Knowledge of machine learning integration with quantum systems
- Ability to secure competitive research funding and manage multi-year projects
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
