Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance quantum coherence in next-generation systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits using state-of-the-art hardware platforms
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing frameworks
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at premier conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum physics and computational theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum processors
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into experimental prototypes
- Active DOE or NSF grant management experience preferred
