Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing hybrid quantum-classical algorithms
- Optimize quantum circuit architectures for NISQ and fault-tolerant hardware
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure $5M+ in government/private quantum research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Develop intellectual property portfolio with 10+ patents annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Deep understanding of quantum supremacy experiments and benchmarks
- Experience securing federal quantum research grants (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- Track record of translating theoretical models into practical implementations
