Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams prototyping quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals/conferences
- Secure $2M+ in DoE/NASA grants for quantum applications
- Mentor PhD interns in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with cryptography teams on post-quantum security frameworks
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with high-performance computing libraries
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong track record of securing government/industry research funding
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for clearance
