Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop quantum error correction techniques to enhance qubit stability and scalability
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype quantum processors using superconducting and photonic systems
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum machine learning and quantum neural networks
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present findings at top-tier conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Secure and manage research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private foundations
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantum field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience with major platforms
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation tools
- Publication record in quantum computing or adjacent fields
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, information theory, and complexity classes
- Experience with cryogenic systems or photonic quantum hardware preferred
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Entrepreneurial mindset with passion for commercializing quantum innovations
