Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical applications in machine learning and optimization
- Develop error-corrected qubit architectures to overcome quantum decoherence challenges
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and engineers in prototyping quantum hardware
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences
- Secure government and private grants for next-generation quantum computing initiatives
- Contribute to ethical frameworks for quantum-powered AI systems
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory and experimental physics
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Proven expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum error correction protocols
- Publication record in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL) or equivalent patents
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Experience with cryogenic systems and superconducting qubit manipulation
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding from NSF, DARPA, or similar institutions
- Strong background in machine learning and classical computing optimization
