Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols to advance quantum coherence beyond 1,000 qubits
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit performance on superconducting platforms
- Lead open-source quantum computing projects and publish research in Nature/Science journals
- Mentor junior researchers and present findings at international quantum conferences
- Secure $500K+ in annual research grants through NSF and DoD partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and circuit optimization
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant computing
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (Rigetti, IBM Q, IonQ)
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical quantum applications
