Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research on quantum hardware systems including superconducting qubits and ion traps
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks for industrial deployment
- Collaborate with product teams to integrate quantum solutions into cloud platforms
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in government grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and circuit optimization
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with experience in high-performance computing environments
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics foundations and quantum information theory
- Track record of translating theoretical models into experimental validation
- Strong background in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Ability to secure competitive research funding from NSF/DOE/DARPA
