Job Description
Join Nexus Quantum Labs at the forefront of the 2026 quantum revolution. We're pioneering next-gen quantum algorithms that will redefine computing as we know it. As a Research Scientist, you'll collaborate with Nobel laureates and MIT alumni to solve humanity's most complex challenges—from drug discovery to climate modeling. Our state-of-the-art lab in San Francisco features 128-qubit processors and unlimited cloud access to quantum simulators. We offer equity grants, flexible schedules, and dedicated quantum hardware for experimental projects. This is your chance to shape the future before it happens.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on real hardware (IBM Quantum, Rigetti)
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into practical solutions
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at QIP conferences
- Secure $500K+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Mentor PhD interns and junior researchers in quantum programming best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and Python
- Published record in top-tier quantum computing conferences (QIP, QCE)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerance frameworks
- Experience with quantum hardware calibration and noise characterization
- Track record of securing government or corporate research funding
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Ability to explain quantum concepts to non-technical stakeholders
