Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems using superconducting qubits and photonic processors
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and present at global conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design next-generation quantum processors
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published record in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction (arXiv, Nature, Science)
- Proficiency with cryogenic systems and quantum measurement techniques
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding ($500K+ preferred)
- Experience with quantum machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow Quantum, PennyLane)
