Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction techniques to enhance qubit stability in multi-qubit systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype quantum processors operating at 99.9% fidelity
- Lead research initiatives in topological quantum computing and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $5M+ in DOE/NASA grants for 2026 quantum infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with superconducting qubits or ion-trap systems
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Published record in top-tier quantum computing conferences (e.g., QIP)
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and mitigation strategies
- Experience with cryogenic quantum measurement systems below 20mK
- Security clearance eligibility for DoD quantum research partnerships
