Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in logistics and drug discovery
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing frameworks
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM SIGACT
- Secure $1M+ in government grants and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum for 2026 workforce readiness
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development using Qiskit or Cirq
- Published research in Nature/Science on quantum supremacy or error correction
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and variational quantum algorithms
- Strong Python proficiency with experience in quantum simulation libraries
- Security clearance eligibility for Department of Energy quantum projects
- Track record of translating theoretical concepts into practical implementations
