Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for practical applications in cryptography, AI, and material science
- Design and implement error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit coherence times and gate fidelities
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at international conferences
- Manage a cross-functional team of quantum physicists and software engineers
- Secure $5M+ in annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Develop quantum computing roadmaps aligned with 2026 industry milestones
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals
- Familiarity with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in C++ and Python for quantum simulation
- Experience leading research teams with publication impact
- Clearance for DoD research projects (or ability to obtain)
