Responsibilities
- Architect and execute quantum computing research roadmaps targeting 2026 technological milestones
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected qubit systems and quantum algorithms
- Partner with industry leaders to design quantum applications in cryptography, optimization, and materials science
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants from government and private sources
- Present findings at international conferences and publish in top-tier scientific journals
- Mentor junior researchers and foster an environment of quantum innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals or equivalent
- Expertise in quantum error correction, superconducting qubits, or topological quantum computing
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants (NSF, DoE, DARPA)
- Strong background in machine learning and classical-quantum hybrid systems
- Experience leading research teams with budgets exceeding $5M
- Active participation in quantum standards bodies (IEEE, QCE)
