Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers in experimental quantum computing
- Develop error mitigation protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with industry partners to prototype real-world quantum applications
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at premier conferences
- Secure federal and private research funding through compelling proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and establish best practices for quantum software development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Demonstrated success in publishing high-impact quantum research
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Experience securing government grants or corporate research funding
- Excellent leadership and cross-team collaboration abilities
