Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse workforce, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for bi-weekly and monthly cycles.
- Compliance Management: Stay updated on federal (FLSA) and Pennsylvania state payroll tax laws, including filing accurate quarterly and annual returns (941, 940, State W-2s).
- Leave Administration: Administer employee time-off requests, track vacation/sick balances, and coordinate with HR on leave of absence paperwork.
- System Management: Maintain and troubleshoot payroll software (ADP Workforce Now or similar) and HRIS systems.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, resolving discrepancies and answering questions regarding pay stubs and deductions.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze payroll reports for management, including labor cost analysis and garnishment tracking.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably using ADP, Paylocity, or Ceridian.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and advanced knowledge of payroll tax regulations.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure 100% accuracy in data entry.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly to staff.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
