Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for diverse employee population including hourly, salaried, and commissioned staff
- Manage tax filings, wage garnishments, and deductions with 100% compliance accuracy
- Administer benefits enrollments, deductions, and reconciliations for health insurance, 401(k), and other benefits
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies through detailed audit trails and documentation
- Maintain strict confidentiality while processing sensitive employee compensation data
- Collaborate with HR department on new hire onboarding, terminations, and payroll system updates
- Generate payroll reports for leadership and external auditors using advanced Excel skills
- Stay current on evolving payroll legislation (FLSA, FICA, state-specific regulations)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience with multi-state operations
- Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or enterprise-level payroll systems
- Proven track record of maintaining 100% audit compliance in payroll processing
- Expert knowledge of federal/state tax regulations and wage-hour laws
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for stakeholder interactions
- Professional certification (CPP, FPC) preferred but not required
