Responsibilities
- Manage Full-Cycle Payroll: Process semi-monthly payroll for over 200 employees, ensuring accuracy in gross-to-net calculations and deductions.
- Compliance & Tax Filing: Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (W-2s and 1099s) to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Benefits Administration: Assist in the onboarding process regarding payroll deductions for health, dental, and retirement plans.
- Payroll Auditing: Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify and rectify errors before processing.
- Employee Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions, providing clear and timely resolutions.
- System Management: Maintain and update payroll records in our ADP system and reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in payroll processing.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or SAP) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Associateās degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources; Bachelorās degree preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot discrepancies and maintain data integrity under tight deadlines.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of FLSA, FICA, and state-specific labor laws.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-financial staff.
