As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting our finance operations, ensuring our team members are paid correctly and on time every cycle.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 100 employees using ADP Workforce Now and QuickBooks.
- Calculate overtime, deductions, and benefits accurately according to FLSA and California labor laws.
- Prepare and review payroll reports, including tax filings, garnishment orders, and year-end reconciliation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax forms (W-2/W-4), and time-off balances.
- Collaborate with the HR department to update employee records and ensure data integrity across all systems.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personnel data.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or HR is preferred.
- 1-3 years of direct experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws, tax regulations, and FLSA guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive inquiries with discretion.
