Responsibilities
- Accounts Management: Process and record daily accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll for a small team, including verifying hours worked and ensuring tax withholdings are accurate.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and classifying account data.
- Document Management: Organize and file physical and digital tax documents, invoices, and receipts for easy retrieval.
- Tax Preparation Assistance: Gather necessary documentation and assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or general accounting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors in financial data.
- Knowledge Base: Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and basic tax regulations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
- Integrity: High level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
