Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Financial Transactions: Accurately process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all invoices are recorded and payments are made on time.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, trial balances, and financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) for clients.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and tax filings as needed, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Software Management: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) to input data and generate financial reports.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries regarding their financial statements and account status.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance, or completion of an accredited bookkeeping certification program (NACPB, AIPB).
- Experience: 2-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably within a small business or accounting firm setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data integrity across multiple ledgers.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to clients.
- Availability: Must be available to work a set number of hours per week (typically 15-25 hours), with a preference for candidates available during standard business hours.
