Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts: Handle daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Tax Support: Assist the senior accountant with annual tax preparation, gathering necessary documentation, and filing state and federal returns.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for a small team of 10-15 employees, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Expense Management: Review and approve employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience; part-time experience preferred.
- Software: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage accounting software.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
