As a Night Shift Bookkeeper, you will play a critical role in maintaining our clients' financial integrity, ensuring accuracy in ledger entries, and preparing essential financial reports during the quiet hours of the night.
Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journals, ledgers, and subsidiary accounts.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor relations, and ensure timely collections.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform nightly reconciliations of bank statements and credit card accounts to identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for night-shift staff and ensure tax filings are current.
- Compliance: Ensure all bookkeeping practices comply with federal and state financial regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate finance environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or similar).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting to the finance department.
