Responsibilities
- Process daily financial transactions and maintain accurate general ledger accounts
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements with meticulous attention to detail
- Prepare month-end closing reports and financial statements under tight deadlines
- Analyze variance reports and provide actionable insights to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations for all financial activities
- Collaborate with auditors during quarterly and annual financial reviews
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles and optimize cash flow
- Utilize advanced Excel functions and accounting software for data analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience
- Proven expertise in month-end closing procedures and financial reporting
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to work independently during night shift hours
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience with multi-entity accounting systems and consolidation
- Knowledge of DC tax regulations and compliance requirements
