Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 500+ employees across multiple states using ADP Workforce Now
- Verify timekeeping data, calculate deductions, and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (FLSA, FICA, etc.)
- Manage garnishments, benefits deductions, and 401(k) contributions with 100% accuracy
- Respond to payroll inquiries within 24 hours and resolve employee discrepancies proactively
- Prepare and file quarterly tax forms (941s, state unemployment) and year-end reports (W-2s)
- Conduct internal audits to ensure payroll controls are effective and data integrity is maintained
- Stay updated on payroll legislation changes and implement new processes as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience with multi-state compliance
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll software (Sage, Paychex)
- Expert knowledge of FLSA, FICA, and state-specific payroll regulations
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- PHR or CPP certification (highly desirable)
- Advanced Excel skills with VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data validation
- Proven track record of maintaining 100% payroll accuracy in audits
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines in high-volume environments
