- Identify emerging tech trends and assess their commercial viability for market disruption
- Manage $5M+ R&D budgets with measurable ROI on experimental projects
- Build and mentor a team of 8-12 specialized researchers and engineers
- Present strategic vision to investors, partners, and industry conferences
Qualifications
- 15+ years in tech strategy with 5+ years in emerging technologies (AI/quantum/blockchain)
- Proven track record of launching successful future-tech initiatives with measurable impact
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Expertise in forecasting tech trends and translating them into actionable strategies
- Experience managing R&D budgets exceeding $3M with cross-functional leadership
- Strong network within tech innovation ecosystems (VCs, research labs, Fortune 500)
- Presentation skills at industry conferences (TED, CES, Web Summit) required
- Proficiency in strategic planning frameworks and technology lifecycle management
