Responsibilities
- Lead research and analysis of emerging technologies (quantum computing, neuromorphic chips, generative AI) to identify opportunities for 2026 market disruption
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps aligning technological innovation with business objectives
- Partner with C-suite executives to integrate future-tech insights into product development and corporate strategy
- Establish cross-functional innovation labs to prototype next-gen solutions
- Author thought leadership reports and present findings at global tech summits
- Manage $2M+ innovation budget with ROI-driven resource allocation
- Mentor R&D teams on future-proofing methodologies and ethical tech frameworks
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning or R&D leadership with proven 5+ year horizon planning
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains: quantum computing, AI ethics, biotech, or climate tech
- Published research or patents in future technologies (IEEE, Nature, or equivalent)
- Experience scaling innovation from concept to commercialization in Fortune 500 environments
- MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical expertise)
- Fluency in strategic foresight methodologies (e.g., Delphi, scenario planning)
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills across technical and executive domains
- Portfolio demonstrating impact of future-tech initiatives on business growth
