Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps aligning with 2026 market predictions and regulatory landscapes
- Lead research initiatives in emerging fields: quantum algorithms, neuromorphic computing, and carbon-negative tech
- Partner with product teams to integrate future technologies into scalable commercial solutions
- Establish KPI frameworks for measuring technological ROI and adoption readiness
- Present strategic briefings to investors and board members on technological disruption vectors
- Manage $5M+ innovation budget for pilot programs and prototype development
- Champion ethical AI governance and sustainable tech implementation across all initiatives
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic tech roles with proven experience in horizon scanning and trend analysis
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futures Studies (PhD preferred)
- Published thought leadership on emerging technologies (IEEE, ACM, or similar)
- Expertise in at least three of: quantum computing, generative AI, biotech convergence, or climate tech
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through ambiguous technological transitions
- Proficiency in scenario planning tools and technology forecasting methodologies
- Strong network within Silicon Valley's innovation ecosystem (VCs, labs, research institutions)
