Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 5-year technology roadmaps for emerging innovation domains
- Lead cross-functional quantum/AI research initiatives with $50M+ annual budgets
- Establish strategic partnerships with MIT, Stanford, and national research labs
- Present technology forecasts to C-suite and board of directors quarterly
- Oversee patent portfolio development targeting 100+ new filings by 2026
- Mentor PhD-level researchers in applied futurism methodologies
- Conduct horizon scanning for disruptive technologies in 15+ emerging sectors
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or Futurist Studies (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years in technology strategy at Fortune 500 or unicorn startup
- Published research in Nature/Science on emerging technologies
- Proven track record scaling R&D teams from 5 to 50+ members
- Expertise in at least 3 of: quantum machine learning, neuromorphic computing, climate tech
- Proficiency in technology forecasting frameworks (Delphi, Scenario Planning)
- Clearable federal security clearance preferred
- Speaking experience at Davos, TED, or equivalent global forums
