Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Maintain accurate financial records, perform monthly reconciliations, and ensure all financial data is up-to-date.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements and variance reports to management in a timely manner.
- Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations (GAAP/IFRS).
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage payments, and track accounts receivable to ensure healthy cash flow.
- Payroll Support: Assist in the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy in time tracking and payroll tax calculations.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and support the external auditors during audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and implement cost-saving initiatives within the finance department.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is critical) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect errors and ensure data accuracy in all financial transactions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: High ethical standards and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial information.
