Responsibilities
- Process Transactions: Accurately input and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions into our accounting software.
- Reconciliation: Perform daily bank reconciliations and credit card statements to ensure all records match.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all financial documents.
- Assist with Payroll: Support the payroll department by preparing timesheets and verifying data for bi-weekly processing.
- Reporting: Help generate basic financial reports and assist in the preparation of month-end close schedules.
- Communication: Correspond with vendors and clients regarding invoices and payments in a professional manner.
- Software Proficiency: Learn and utilize industry-standard accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage).
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior accounting experience required. We value raw talent and eagerness to learn over history.
- Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and formulas) and knowledge of Word is preferred.
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Ethic: Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace are required for remote training elements.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for client interaction.
