Role Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring timely payments. This entry-level position is perfect for recent graduates or individuals looking to transition into the finance industry.
Responsibilities
- Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and code invoices for accuracy and completeness before payment authorization.
- Vendor Management: Maintain accurate vendor master files and resolve any discrepancies or queries from vendors promptly.
- Data Entry: Enter invoice data into the ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle) ensuring all fields are correct and audit-ready.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable sub-ledgers and bank statements.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of month-end close reports and variance analysis.
- Communication: Communicate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve payment issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an administrative or finance role is a plus, but not required for this entry-level position.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
