Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Assist with monthly and quarterly account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
- Support audit processes by gathering documentation and preparing schedules for external auditors
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with strict attention to deadlines and accuracy
- Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel using advanced functions
- Comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations including sales tax filings and 1099 processing
- Contribute to month-end closing procedures and variance analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (recent graduates welcome)
- Basic knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting fundamentals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract compliance
