Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management accounts
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
- Support year-end audit processes and documentation preparation
- Utilize Xero and Sage software for bookkeeping tasks
- Conduct variance analysis for budget vs. actual reporting
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (2:1 or above)
- Basic knowledge of UK accounting principles and tax regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Awareness of cloud accounting platforms (Xero/Sage)
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant internship or academic project experience preferred
