As a Credit Analyst at Laredo Commerce Bank, you will be the gatekeeper of our lending portfolio. You will assess the creditworthiness of borrowers, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of borrower financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow to determine credit risk and loan suitability.
- Prepare detailed credit memos and presentation packages for the Credit Committee.
- Monitor borrower performance and identify early warning signs of financial distress.
- Assess collateral values and ensure adequate coverage for all credit facilities.
- Maintain and update the credit database with accurate and up-to-date information.
- Collaborate with loan officers and relationship managers to provide strategic lending advice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial or consumer credit analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
- Familiarity with banking regulations, such as CRA and Fair Lending laws.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
