Responsibilities
- Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay abreast of evolving financial laws and regulations (e.g., SEC, FINRA) to ensure our organization remains fully compliant.
- Internal Audits: Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and mitigate operational risks.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and update comprehensive compliance policies and procedures tailored to our business needs.
- Training & Education: Deliver regular training sessions to staff members on compliance standards, ethical practices, and reporting procedures.
- Investigations: Lead the investigation of internal complaints and potential violations, ensuring thorough documentation and resolution.
- External Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulators and auditors during inspections and examinations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or JD is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or auditing within the financial services sector.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal banking regulations and state-specific compliance laws relevant to Louisiana.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them practically.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and influence others effectively.
- Flexibility: Ability to work independently and adapt to a flexible schedule as required.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE, or CFP preferred.
