Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Risk Management: Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor changes in regulatory laws and legislation, interpreting their impact on company operations.
- Training & Education: Train employees on compliance standards, ethics, and internal procedures to foster a culture of accountability.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for senior management and external auditors regarding compliance status and risk mitigation efforts.
- Investigation: Investigate internal complaints and conduct thorough inquiries into potential policy violations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or auditing within the financial services industry.
- Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as SOX, HIPAA, or state-specific financial regulations.
- Skills: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and documentation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certification: Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or similar certification is a significant plus.
