Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims with 99% accuracy within 48-hour turnaround
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries via phone/email
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports weekly and escalate unresolved issues
- Update and maintain patient billing records in Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with coding teams to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for leadership review
- Train staff on billing process improvements and new regulations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or accounting required
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital/clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Expertise in Epic EMR and NextGen billing platforms
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, EMTALA, and CPT coding standards
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
