Responsibilities
- Accurately process and manage medical and business billing invoices to ensure timely payment.
- Review and verify patient insurance information, eligibility, and coverage details.
- Submit claims to insurance carriers and follow up on pending or rejected claims.
- Manage accounts receivable, resolve billing discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and reconcile data using Excel and billing software.
- Communicate professionally with patients, insurance providers, and internal teams regarding billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, healthcare finance, or accounts receivable.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) or billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
