Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance eligibility and demographic information to ensure accuracy prior to claims submission.
- Process and submit medical claims electronically and via paper, ensuring adherence to payer guidelines.
- Monitor claims status and follow up on denied or delayed claims to secure timely reimbursement.
- Manage patient billing inquiries via phone and email, providing clear explanations of services rendered and payment plans.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and maintain precise billing records in our CRM system.
- Stay updated on changing healthcare regulations, coding updates (ICD-10/CPT), and payer policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associateās degree in Medical Billing, Healthcare Administration, or Finance is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, collections, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, NextGen) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies in data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
