Responsibilities
- Design and implement energy-efficient AI algorithms and neural network architectures
- Develop carbon footprint tracking systems for machine learning pipelines
- Optimize cloud-based ML workloads for minimal energy consumption
- Collaborate with hardware teams to design sustainable computing infrastructure
- Create sustainability benchmarks and reporting frameworks for AI systems
- Lead green AI initiatives for enterprise clients in manufacturing, logistics, and energy sectors
- Research and integrate emerging sustainable technologies (quantum computing, neuromorphic chips)
- Mentor junior engineers on sustainable development practices
Qualifications
- MSc/PhD in Computer Science, AI, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and distributed computing frameworks
- Proven track record optimizing ML models for energy efficiency
- Familiarity with carbon accounting methodologies (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and sustainable computing practices
- Strong background in at least one sustainability domain (renewable energy, circular economy, etc.)
- Published research in sustainable AI or green computing preferred
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
