About the Role
As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will work closely with our senior accountants to ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and takes pride in their work.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify daily invoices, ensuring all entries are accurate and approved according to company policy.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure balances match general ledger entries.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and budgets.
- Maintain and organize the general ledger system, including updating accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist with year-end audits by providing requested documentation and schedules.
- Handle payroll processing tasks, including verifying timecards and issuing paychecks.
- Answer financial inquiries from internal staff and external vendors in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and discrepancies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex financial problems.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
