Apex Financial Partners is currently seeking a dedicated Weekend Accountant to join our growing finance team in the heart of Chicago. Responsibilities
- Perform month-end and quarter-end closing procedures on Saturday and Sunday.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Prepare and post general ledger journal entries in compliance with GAAP.
- Review and code incoming invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and variance analysis.
- Support the audit process by providing requested documentation and schedules.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
