Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for management review.
- Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Payroll Support: Assist in the processing and verification of payroll data to ensure accurate compensation for all employees.
- Tax Preparation: Support the accounting team in the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve overall data accuracy.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Certifications: CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred but not strictly required for this immediate hire.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
