Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Bookkeeping: Manage general ledger accounts, reconcile bank statements, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency within the finance department.
- Payroll Support: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll data to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Auditing: Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software; advanced Excel skills required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors, analyze data, and ensure 100% accuracy in financial records.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax laws.
